A Song about Celebration and Creativity

This is the story of how we used the power of creativity, celebration, and music to bring joy to our users with Anghami.

Kamkalima’s yearly writing competition is the highlight of our year as a company. It gives us the opportunity to explore all the exciting creativity our students hold with the help of our beloved teachers of course!

The energy and excitement were heartwarming during February’s launch of the competition, there were a lot of plans brewing and we were all looking forward to taking a peek at our students’ creativity. We couldn’t wait to finally meet our students and teachers physically during the awards ceremony and not from behind a screen. Covid-19 and 4 months later, all our plans were thrown away due to uncontrollable events.

However,

With 1061 submissions, 5 participating countries, 59 dedicated teachers - these are numbers we couldn’t ignore! The effort our students put into creating beautiful stories, and the effort our teachers put into empowering their students to create these narratives, needed to be celebrated and appreciated.

So we made a decision and created an online event that will make our family feel appreciated and to remind them that Kamkalima will always be a haven for inspiring writers, all for the love of Arabic.

There was no other partner we could think of other than Anghami to share that message with our users. So we partnered up with Anghami for this year’s writing competition to spread the power of music to all our exceptional teacher and student winners.

We hope that next year we will be able to share the joy in person with even more participants. We can’t WAIT to see you next year!
